I've never been so irate in my life about something. All remaining patriotism I had left in my body has been beaten shitless (sorry if it's a language free forum) and is lying dead on the ground, next to my cigarette butt.

I agree with gerard. Even when I didn't smoke I see it as part of the bar scene. They just go together. I think they should have made a provision that if a proper ventilation unit was installed it could be allowed or even seperate smokeing and non-smoking rooms. Now it won't be so bad but I'm not gonna be going to the bars when I have to go out in the cold to smoke a stoge and leave my cup inside open to tampering or having the busboy walk away witth my $8 drink while I'm away.

Well since summer is coming no big deal but I really feel for the smokers once winter comes. Besides beer and smoking just go together I mean I wouldn't mind in the bar but in club they can always just having a smoking section. It's crazy though I never could have seen this coming even people I know that don't smoke, smoke at bars lol. So defiently something new but I don't smoke so no issue for me.

All I know is that on Sat when I was at a bar, it smelled like sweat/b.o.
The smoking not only goes with the bar scene, it covers up or masks the things we DONT want to smell. example: the sweat dripping off of some guy's ball scratchers when he tries to man handle me
yuck
i rather smell like cigs all night

well i think this is just absurd.. banning smoking..ok fine i can see if they want to ban it from restaurants cuz food is being served...but a bar..give me a break..drinking and smoking go hand in hand..its just going to cause more problems..people are going to have to pound there drinks down if they want to smoke because they obviously can't bring they're drink outside and you're not going to want to leave it inside unattended..cause there are some sick people out there that will drug you..i just think its ridiculous and it needs to be done away with...and now they are trying to pass a law that it is illegal to smoke while you are driving..they are taking our freedom away and its bullshit! at least let it be up to the owners of the bar to decide..

I think the NJ smoking ban is great. Now I can go out to clubs, bars, restaurants and anywhere else smoking was allowed and not have to worry about coming home smelling like a disgusting Ashtray. If people want to smoke its fine but for the people who don't smoke as well as people who have Asthma or allergies shouldnt have to be subjected to other peoples cigarette smoke, and be at a health risk when they want to go out to party and have a great time. I will definately enjoy going out to clubs and bars much more now.

As a non smoker, it really doesn't matter to me. I think people will get use to it, I just don't get why they would ban smoking in bars.

I don't think the smoking ban is a good idea. Maybe in a restaurant but not in a bar. If the bar has good ventilation then why not. My only problem is when people light up cigars. Personally, the smell of them makes me sick. But having a designated smoking area would work for either cigar smokers or cigarette smokers.

Maybe some sort of license? Where they have to follow guidelines to have people smoke in the bars, mainly circulation. And if the air quality is consistently bad, then they can get their license revoked.

I completely agree with xoxskyyxox - the same thing had occured to me. Now what, people have to leave their drink unattended to go have a cigarette... there's no way I'm going to slam the rest of my drink down just to have a smoke... so now I've got a bring along a babysitter for my drink when I want to hit a bar? I think this ban is putting my life in more danger, how do they like that one?
