I have been trying to figure a place out for about a week now (after all Thanksgiving Eve is the top drinking night of the year) and still can't manage to come up with a cool spot. I am thinking maybe RingSide in Caldwell cause they don't kill you on the prices and they usually have live music. I was in Pub 46 last year for a bit and it was PACKED so we headed out to Murphy's Third Rail in Dover ... it was a good time, but I figure I kinda wanna hit up a new place.

So what are yous guys plans?

I'll be celebrating the fact that I don't have to see my brother for Thanksgiving dinner.

Tomorrow night I will be going to the Underdog Lounge in Haledon.  The band Plan B is playing there, and they always put on a good show.  There's a $5 cover, but I heard that the cover also includes a drink.  Plus the female vocalist is hot.  They go on around 10, and do old and new covers.  Check them out: http://myspace.com/planbspace

I was thinking about Pub 46, but based on what has been said about thanksgiving eve there, its going to be packed.  So maybe Cornerstone in Hillsdale, or a little over the border in Pearl River or Nyack NY and stick to last years plan.

Heres my question...i thought about this last year but never asked, is Thanksgiving eve so big for the simple reason that all college kids are home? Or is it because no one works on thanksgiving (for the most part).. or is there an actual reason?!

I think it's a combination of both. No one at work, and college kids being home for a few days makes for a great excuse to drink. I go to C.C.M., and the place was empty on Wednesday, though I did smell alcohol on the breath of a few people.
