I've never been to the Canal House but I heard it's a good time.  Murphy's is usually really good on Thursday nights, it's more of a college, recent grad kind of crowd but it's usually packed.  The weekends they usually have live bands so it depends on who's playing and then the bar will either be packed or dead.  The Exchange usually has an older crowd if that's what your looking for.  Adam's beer garden is more of a run-down kind of bar, so I hear.  Morristown is a better place to go though if your looking to stay local but really go out.

Cool, well it sounds like there are at least a few real close places. I will be walking distance from Adam's Beer Garden, so hopefully that place is cool too....

Also, "Tavern on the Rocks" on main street in rockaway and "The Fireside" in Denville.... both
decent bars. Usually,"The Fireside" and "Canal house"  has good bands. The fireide usually has a $6 cover (sucks!!), which turns people away. Good Luck... see ya around.

I feel sorry for people who don't drink, cause when they get up in the morning that's as good as they're gonna feel for the rest of the day!

The exchage is usually a pretty old crowd. Adams is small but it's usually pretty good. Canal has beer pong nights which is usually a good time. 2 time champion myself  Grin Murphy's 3rd rail is huge and the only time I've been there was on an off night. No one was in the place but I've still heard when it's hopping then it's the best place around.
