do yourself a favor man, get something before you meet the girl of your dreams because if her name is on the mortgage, she owns half. i bought before i met anyone and i dont think i'll ever get married... too much to lose and way too common to lose it

Yeah man, unless your name is the only one on it, it ain't yours. And you would be suprised how fast the sexist court system will make your half worthless. Don't get mad, I am just saying ladys.

18. saving money for a house while having 'real' expenses is something i strongly advocate unless you were the type of kid who needed mom's to wake him up for school everyday. in which case just get committed to some type of asylum. it's safe, padded and easy. plus, all the drugs are free and you can be drooling all over yourself in a place that gives you a gold star or perhaps a merit badge for that.
yeh it's a safe and easy way to live at home and save money til you're 24 but really you have to feel castrated for doing that right?

I agree, get ur own place with ur own name.... i bought a 2family house at 23 by myself, it is a lot of work, but i def think it was the best move. whether i ever get married or not, this will be mine only. nowadays, divorce is the reality and u dont want to lose the house u put all ur $ and sweat into!!!
