No, but once I got pulled over by a dickhead in Lyndhurst after picking my drunk friend up at the bar. It was snowing out, and I was going uphill, and I drive a mustang. So, of course, my tires were spinning out. Theres almost no way to avoid it in snow, especially going up a hill.
He pulls me over, accuses me of "burning out", gives me a ticket for careless driving, and tells me he smells alcohol in the car and I'm lucky he doesn't give me a DUI.
That was a fun ticket to fight in court, it took forever. Blah, no realy point to that story, but it still pisses me off.

i personally think DUI'S can be easily avoided sometimes oner person just needs to be a bigger man/woman and say i'm not drinkin tonight so that my friends will stay safe
personally this one bar i went to had a great policy, if you are under 21 you get a mark on your hand and if you are also the designated driver you get free drinks all night non-alchoholic of course
people really should just not drink and drive it's stupid and you could kill someone
i got an uncle whose been in jail since 1991 because he drove drunk and killed his best friend
so yea dont drink and drive

DWI/DUIs SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got one. August 26, 2005. Ill never forget it. I learned my lesson. That is a sure thing. I get my license back in 30 days from today....i should have it back already but with court being postponed TWICE cause the legal system SUCKSSSSSS its not til July 24. Its the worst thing ever. You have to rely on other forms of transportation and others to get you around. You get every where early and have to wait on rides/cabs/buses etc etc. Not to mention the financial strain it put on me. I work at Starbucks, i can't afford all this BS. AND to top it off I got in an accident and totaled my car, so now ontop of all the expensive ass fines and shit i have to pay i have to buy a car. THEN insurance, thats gonna be a bitch and a half. All i know is I am SOOOOOOOOOO thankful that no one was hurt but myself. I was the only one involved (and a parked car or two...haha yea it was sorta not good) 7 months loss of license, lawyer, court fees, car, insurance, IDRC class fees, resortation fee, outpatient BS they make you do fees....no one should have to go through this. GET A DD OR CALL A FUCKING CAB. Trust me, the $40 for a cab is WAYYYYY better the the THOUSANDS of dollars you will have to pay if you think you can drive. Thank you for listening to me vent about this. lol as if i haven't done it enough in 6 months, i could go on forever. IT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!

The Filan Countdown has begun....i get my license back in 7 days after not having it for 7 months due to a DWI. The difference in case no one knows, DUI=Driving Under the Influence, any BAC between .08 and .1, DWI=driving while intoxicated, BAC .10 and higher! It's not a fellony, thank God for NJ Court system! The thing that sucks are all teh fines. Although, Courts make you pay all the fines during the length of your suspention. If you get a DUI, minimum suspention is 90 days, DWI, new state minimum since OCT 2005 is 7 months. $1000/year for three years to the NJ AUTO INSURANCE COmmision, 600 court costs, 250 IDRC mandatory 2 day Class that you must take over a weekend (2nd offenders have to spend 3 consecutive days at the facility), 200 license restoration fee....not to mention the insurance hike, which i didn't even get to that point. one suggestion to al who r in that situation, get a public defender and pay $50 like i did. At the time of you court date, you plea not guilty and announce you want a public defender, they send you to fill out a form with you income info, judg elooks at it, and says ok, sinc eyou even bothered with it, i'm granting it to you. a week later, public defender fo rthe county sends you a letter (most of those guys were past prosecutors for the county so they know all the inns and outs of that particular court), you pay the $50 fee to him, two weeks later you have your trial, at which time they tell you you careless driving tivket (which automatically comes with DWI and DUI) is dropped, they announce you fines, and you surrender you licence. not too much liniance, but at least you didnt' pay 2500 to an attorney who can do the same (in the legal field, which i'm very much part of, being a paralegal and all, no one fuckes with "mandatory" sententing, which is what this statue requires!
lol) do the math, dont' drink and drive, but thank god there are only 7 SEVEN!!!!!! days left! yeyeyeyeyeyeyey!

to gerad i think its jus like a serious traffic offense.
they deffently do suck. i gottten a dui back in september 17 2005 and i didnt go to court til like feb 22 2006. which sucks really bad cuz if the court system was speedy then i would have already had my liscence back. i get it back on august 22.
this dui really screwed me up. i had a really hard time finding a job since i do construction and everywhere i look to find work everyone needs a liscence. i had to sell my pick up truck so i can have some money in my pocket. i jus finally started workin again after 2 months of nothing jus like las week. the fines are outragous the lawyer coast me like 1500$, the court fines were 730$, i hav to dish out 230$ for an idrc class ( which i hav to go to in like an hour or so), its a 1000$ surcharge for 3 years, 200$ restrution (sp), and i dont even hav a clue what my insurance is gunna be. like angel said u hav to rely on other people always early and to stay longer waitin on the ride. it is so not worth it. i deffently learned my lesson.
i hav an idea how im gunna help myself. since im goin to get another pick-up truck soon im goin to keep my moutain bike in the back of the bed. so when i feel like i had to much i can always jus ride the bike home. this is gunna for me cuz i like in keyport and i normally stay within the local bars around town

I got close to getting one. Instead I settled for the following charges: Reckless driving, leaving the scene of accident, failure to report accident, failure to exhibit insuarance, abandoning a motor vehicle on limited access highway, failure to exhibit drivers license, and careless driving. I had to walk for 3 hours in the cold ass rain. Had to pay $400 in fines. $300 to get my totalled car out of the police impound, my license was suspended for 6 months, and oh yeah, the I owed more on the car than what it was worth so I'm still making payments on it even though it doesnt exist anymore. My neck still hurts and I wrecked 5 months ago. Drinkin and driving isnt on my to-do list in the near future.

I've had 2 dui's, and they suck, don't get them, do whatever it takes not to get one. At the time it doesn't seem that bad, no license, never the DD, but it keeps you from all kinds of shit later, I couldn't get the job I wanted cuz my driving record wasnt clean, I'm not allowed in Canada because it's apparently a felony up there, not that it's that important but I didn't know that till i got there and they said, nope...you can't come in our country, no ski trip for me. IT SUCKS

A freind of mine was arrested a few years back on a Drug Charge ( an large drug charge which cost him nearly 3 years in jail ) and he goes up to Canada a couple times a year. Interesting they wouldnt let you in.
