Dude, I repaired/installed these machines ... I have litterally seen dozens of them in a number of chain resturants.  But then again, down there in central jersey i doubt many of yous have running water.

Why are so many people so ignorant? No one forces you to goto the bars/restaurants to eat/drink! You go on your own free will. If a business "OWNER" wants to allow smoking then he/she should be allowd. The law is our crooked politicians taking away our "RIGHTS" It's irrelevant how it hurts businesses. The fact of the matter is that our rights are being taken away from us everyday and there is little we can do about it. If you don't like smoking in bars then you shouldn't go. Why subject yourself to something you say is unhealthy for you and that you dislike then complain about it? That is just ignorant. Maybe you're just functionally illiterate or something but I don't understand your reasoning?

The only ridiculous about this rule is that NJ waited as long as they did to implement it.  I was California when they banned smoking and it was great.  Bars got busier and even the smokers appreciated not coming smelling like 50 different brands of cigarettes.  I moved back to Jersey and had to deal with idiots that still think smoking makes them cool.  I've been tending bar for 14 years (part time for last 7 years), and even though had gotten used to the smoke it was a most welcome step forward for all of us behind the sticks.  We are just as busy, if not busier.  More people are coming out and staying longer.

Sofie, it's not about YOU!!!  Your post just goes to show how ignorant some smokers are.  It's about the second hand smoke what affects those around you.  I can't even come close to estimate how many times I've had customers who were about to order food at the bar when someone plops down next to them, lights ups, and drives the customer away.  I guy sitting next to you at Applebees having few beers is not going to affect you at all.  Whereas the smoker chain smoking his life away next you is just stupid.  So you not only have to get over it...YOU HAVE TO GET IT FIRST!!!.

Maybe if the smokers were more considerate around others who weren't smoking this law would have never been needed.  How many times have you seen a smoker light up next to someone eating the bar.  Most aren't even smart enough to move the ash tray over to the opposite side without being asked.  The place I work has bamboo wood floors that had to be redone time after time because apparently smokers can just put their butts out anywhere they please even though there are ash trays EVERYWHERE!!!

So far, the smoking ban is great.  Not even a question about it.  No said you have to stop smoking.  Most places have ample space outdoors for you to do so.  So slurp down your Appletini's and get over it already.

OK so we put your life in danger by smoking next to you right?? So what the hell do you think drunks do when they decide to drive home while intoxicating... The alcohol makes u think you can still drive home in a straight line..but we all know that isn't true!!!!!!!   i rather die later on in life knowing i did it to myself then some stupid drunk driver ramming right into me and ending my life in one second!!!!   so Mr. Pgoins you should stop being selfish because none of the drunk care if they kill me on the road.. All I'm saying is that yes, Ciggs are not good for your health but drinking ain't too far behind and for all you know, you can kill a little kid for you being selfish and getting drunk behind the wheel.. Let me guess...your going to say u never drove drunk right?!?!? yea don't they all say that!!

An uh---P.S learn how to spell because you did an awful job with it... I wonder how old you are?!?

I was at  "Thatcher McGees" over the weekend, the non-smoking indoors presented quite a problem I never thought of before. After the Fire Marshall showed face a couple times the Bar stopped letting people in and quite the line formed outside. Beings the place wanted to keep a flow going, every 'body' that went out the door was replaced by one outside waiting to come into the joint.

Long story short, a couple friends of mine went out for a cigarettes and ended up having to get in line to re-nter the place which added up to the cigarette costing them 20 minutes to get back in.

All that for a bad habit? Thats just as good as people standing in ZERO degree weather or pouring rain, just to smoke. How sad.

I think bars are much more enjoyable now that you don't have to deal with the smoke from smokers anymore.
