Its all about calories in to calories out... I'm a personal trainer and constantly get asked about things like this... If you wanna drink beer with more carbs, burn it off with more cardio...   burn as much as you take in, then no weight gain...
if you wanna get really technical then alcohol may affect muscle mass because of its negative effects on testosterone... but I think that would be more in the case of daily drinking.

all good tips...I'll keep them in mind when my metabolism slows down cuz i can eat/drink anything i want and not gain a pound...but i do exercise maybe once a week to keep my metabolism up

thanks to a fast metabolism its ez to stay in shape and drink alot. i do little exercising yet am in good shape. i dont lift or even go to a gym. i eat all the time and drink way to much. when i have time i do some pushups and some abdominal work outs. 20-30 mins a day maybe.
