I finally got around to checking out Lana's Lounge this weekend. I used to go to River Street every now and then but I just havn't been in Hoboken much in a while.
Its not bad. The main difference is the music and the prices. They play more of a variety of music. Before it was a lot more techno/dance with big thumping bass all night. Now they play some of that, but more hip-hop and reggae, etc. Drink prices are noticeably higher though. After the first round I stuck to water (which was still $4 for a bottle of poland spring). We were out for my girlfriends birthday so I didn't care, but for a normal night of partying its a little pricy. Although getting you drink on at a cheaper bar and then heading to Lana's for the dancing isn't a bad idea.
It really isn't like a lounge though, IMO. I've been to a few lounges in NYC, and Lana's is still a dance club, despite the name change.
Just thought this post could use a follow-up
